Breaking Barriers: Roots & Resilience in Mental Health

Breaking Barriers: Roots & Resilience in Mental Health is taking place during South Asian Heritage Month as part of the All In Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games programme. The event is delivered in partnership with the Health and Social Care Partnership Team and made possible with funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.
Created by Scottish Asian Counselling Services (SACS), this event aims to open up conversations around mental health, culture, stigma, identity, belonging and wellbeing within South Asian and ethnic minority communities.
With the theme of Unity in Diversity, guests can expect:
* Guest speakers, including actor and presenter Atta Yaqub
* Live music from Amit Sumal pianist
* A vibrant Dhol and Scottish bagpipes performance
* Community stalls and wellbeing resources
* Local mental health and community organisations
* A Children’s Creative Corner with arts, crafts and wellbeing activities
* Opportunities to connect, learn and celebrate culture
